Learn a little bit about our 7 Board Members!
Gabrial Babella is the previous President of ASA of AZ. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences from Arizona State University. He was born in Chicago, IL, and lives in Phoenix, AZ. He credits his family’s influence as the reason he works in Assyrianism, but also and most importantly, knowing the atrocities Assyrians have gone through to hold on to their identity drives and inspires him to work for the Assyrian cause. He is also the Vice President of WAAY and a Director of the Assyrian American Cultural Organization of AZ. He has travelled to 16 countries!
Anthony Narsi is the previous President of CCASYA. He received a B.S. in Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara. He was born and lives in Turlock, CA. He is active in the Assyrian cause in order to help ensure that the Assyrian identity never becomes extinct. He is also a Board Member of Etuti Institute. He plays several instruments including zurna and the accordion!
Maggie Younan is the previous Secretary and Vice President of CCASYA. She holds a B.A. in Communications. She was born and lives in Modesto, CA. The Assyrian cause has gotten more important to her as she has gotten older and living in the diaspora, the danger Assyrians face when it comes to a loss of identity. She says it is very important that our generation and future generations get involved and unite in love with one another!
Rameel Khamo is the previous Treasurer of ASAC. He holds a B.S. in Accounting. He was born and lives in Chicago, IL. Being born and raised in the USA, along with its diversity, he sees how easy it is for someone to lose sight of their heritage. He has learned from his elders about the Assyrian heritage, and he feels it is his duty to pay it forward!
Aded Daniel is the previous Marketing Director of the ASA of AZ. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and currently works as a Data Integrity Analyst. He was born in Chicago, IL, and lives in Phoenix, AZ. He believes it is our duty to keep our culture alive for future generations in hopes that one day we regain our Homeland. A fun fact about him is that he first met his wife on an ASA of AZ and AUF (Sweden) youth exchange
Eastern Regional Director
Nineveh Rasho is the previous President of ASAC. She holds a Master's of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and currently works as an Architect in training. She was born and lives in the Chicagoland, IL area. The Assyrian cause is important to her because being Assyrian is a part of who she is. She says we are a vulnerable people with a rich history, and she feels that it is imperative to be active in ensuring that there is a future for us. A fun fact about her is that she is great at quickly remembering song lyrics and recognizing music beats and melodies!
Western Regional Director
Ramsin Youkana holds a B.A. in Political Science and is currently a Law Student! He was born and lives in Modesto, CA. He believes that as Assyrians, it is each of our duty to work for our nation because at the end of the day, no one but our people will... aka "Ganan Qa Ganan". A fun fact about him is that he likes to make his own homemade wines!
